Jaguar XKR specs Beauty

Jaguar XKR specs Beauty

Top Speed: 155 mph / 250 km/h (limited)
0-60 mph: 4.9 seconds
Engine: Supercharged 4.2-liter 420bhp V8
Aficionados of car sports always crave for more power; so is the case with sports car making companies. Adding to this race for power is the 2007 Jaguar XKR.

The new Jaguar XKR derives all its excellence from its predecessor, Jaguar XK luxury car, and at the same time presents a 'more powerful' identity with its innovative engine technology, adding new dimensions to the power definitions of the sports GT cars showing on the roads. The 'beautiful and powerful' XKR has got a lot of features to be proud of.

The body of Jaguar XKR is made of the aluminum monocoque, the latest development in the automobile technology. The supercharged 420 bhp, V8 engine with its six-speed automatic transmission capability is one among the many features that make this young Jaguar sporty on its wheels.

Of course, this fast car can enhance your sporting thrills. The perfect sport-compliant fitting such as the front bumper, aluminum grilles and the bonnet louvers, 19/20-inch wheel design and the quad-exhaust system, etc., make its performance worthy of competition.

You can have a good control too! No need to worry about the road conditions or the demanding speed. XKR is capable of delivering instant acceleration the moment you require it. You may use it for a grand tour or as a sports car. The perfect suspension set-up and the steering control make this change of roles possible for the little Jaguar with ease.

The classic design of Jaguar has always been a passion to the car lovers. Jaguar XK has proved it. Now with contemporary additions to the existing XK style, the new Jaguar XKR is the talk among the funky car aesthetes.

Come to the interior of the luxury car XKR. You will be surprised to see the highly sophisticated cabin that contains the world-class instrument panel and the dashboard. The seats are designed to suit the purpose of the car. They are provided with extra support from the sides for the driver and the front-seat passenger. The 'weave' design of the interior veneer is another noticeable feature of the Jaguar XKR.

For the company, Jaguar XKR is more than a sports GT. With 120bhp (SAE) more power achieved than the earlier 4.2L-XK engines, the XKR has rewritten the technical history of the existing cars. Also the XKR offers 36% more torque than the XK. As a result, the power-to-weight ratio has been increased by 12% and torque-to-weight ratio by 7.7%. All this upgrading is done at the cost of a mere weight increase, about 154lb (70kg).

The lightweight eight-cylinder engine powered with Eaton supercharger is responsible for the better performance. The twin air inlets and a variable inlet camshaft timing system are the main features of the XKR engine that contributes to greater engine efficiency in different driving conditions.

No doubt that the number of fans for the Jaguar fleet is going to be multiplied with the addition of another classic model, Jaguar XKR.

Top Speed: 193 mph / 310 km/h
0-60 mph: 4.1 seconds
Engine: 415 HP at 7600 rpm
The 2007 Porsche 911 GT3 is a track sports car that was designed to meet the ever-growing demands of regular road use. Porsche sports car which made its public debut at the Geneva Motor Show last year features a 415-horsepower, six-cylinder http://dzikrullahamin@gmail.com
naturally aspirated engine that can rev up to 8,400 rpm. The new car features shortened gear ratios which combined with the high-revving engine pushes the GT3 to an acceleration of 60mph from zero in just 4.1 seconds. Not only that the engine is fuel efficient and provides consistent torque.

The GT3 sports coupe boasts of a standard Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) that provides the sports car firmer damping allowing for superior performance and comfort when being driven on the tracks or on uneven roads or terrain, giving it a definite advantage over the Porsche Carrera. The anti-roll bars remain similar to the Carrera but the PASM gives it a wider control range. This allows the GT3 to speed up even on bumpy roads and improves turning stability. The responsive steering and the six-speed manual transmission provide precise control and stellar response. Aside from the acceleration, the GT3 has better handling than the Carrera.
The reduced weight also contributes to the GT3´s handling. The GT3 sports car has been designed for maximum performance with the lower spoiler increasing the down force and speed. The airflow rates were also improved with the throttle valve enlarged to 82 centimeters and a low-backpressure exhaust system.

With the GT3, Porsche once again proves that "there is no substitute". The sleek design, lowered spoiler, 19-inch alloy sport wheels, the 2007 Porsche 911 GT3 is performance and beauty combined. The front has large air inlets while the back has adjustable wings that can be used to improve down force. It was enhanced with traction-slip and drag-torque control functions that can also be disabled.

Safety features of this sports car include: anti-lock brakes with cross-drilled discs. High-performance ceramic brakes perfect for weekend track-outings are optional. Front, side-impact and side curtain-type airbags are standard. The new car also features electronic stability system. The sports car´s interiors are made of high-caliber materials providing comfort for regular road use. Aside from comfort, the GT3 interior is a study in elegance with owners having a choice whether to do the seatbelts and seat stitching in red. The bucket seats feature Alcantara system and the shifter knobs and steering wheels have alcantara trimmings. The fierce Porsche sports car is enhanced with a premium sound system, cruise control, keyless entry and improved sound insulation material. All primary controls are located within easy reach at the center panel.

This stunning ride is well worth every penny, with a price tag of just over US$ 100,000, the GT3 sports car provides enthusiasts with a deal like no other. The Porsche 911 GT3 offers reliability, practicality, performance, and composure in one tight and sleek package. Aside from the price, the biggest selling point of the Gt3 is more involved and pleasurable driving experience that sports car enthusiasts can expect from it.

Ford Shelby GT500 specs
0-60 mph: 4.8 seconds
Engine: V8 5.4 liter Supercharged 500 hp
It is certainly one of the most powerful Mustangs to date. This is the new 2007 Ford Shelby GT500 muscle car. To give you a small preview of what this sports car has to offer, let me sum it up with a few numbers and words: 500 horsepower and 5.4-liter supercharged V-8. Did that got your attention? It should have, for someone who likes sports cars with brute strength, those numbers will get them at the edge of their seats. What can I say, this muscle car´s power is classic Shelby. The 5.4-liter, 32-valve V-8 engine has been the result of Ford´s years of tinkering with modular engines. The results are nothing less but remarkable.

The 5.4-liter, 32-valve V-8 engine is nice to read and surely nice to be heard, but how does it perform? Ford made sure that a mixture of air and fuel will be forced-fed into the engine via a "Roots-type" supercharger producing, are you ready for this, 8.5 pounds per square inch of boost. Imagine how the sudden power will affect your speed.

And in order to handle all that power, the Ford Shelby GT500 sports car used a cast-iron engine block drivetrain, reminiscent of the old Ford GT design. The old program aluminum, four-valve cylinder heads, piston rings and bearings system was the foundation for the 2007 sports car GT500' drivetrain. A 6-speed manual gearbox also equips the new Shelby. The heavy-duty transmission has been made to withstand both road and track conditions. Solid Mustang underpinnings and upgraded key chassis components born from a fusion of improved shocks, spring rates and stabilizer bars care-off SVT engineers made the new Shelby strong and stable especially during sudden stops and abrupt turns.

With that V8, you can imagine the sound this baby can make. This sports car roars. And as sinister as the engine sounds, the outside of the GT500 is almost as sinister. Have you seen a Mustang Cobra before? If yes then you´re familiar with the ominous front-end design, the wide upper and lower fascia openings and that functional air splitter. The same goes with the new Shelby. The look of this car can only be described as one mean machine. If you observe the sports car closely, you´ll notice that there´s the presence of an upper intake which made the Cobra logo float off-center. The logo takes the place of the traditional galloping pony that can be found in the center of older Mustangs. Also, the hood has those heat extractors sticking out near the leading edge. This is not just to make the look sinister but to provide engine airflow and create the perfect aerodynamics. Due to this design, the air from the engine compartment is sucked out through ducts that are attached to the hood extractors as the air from the outside passes through the hood.

Definitely, the 2007 Ford Shelby GT500 sports car is more than one could hope for after the unique collaboration of legendary Carroll Shelby and Ford Special Vehicle Team (SVT). Now being a product of a great union of minds, effort and money, the muscle car sports a "GT500" script on the gas cap emblem along side an updated Shelby classic Cobra logo.

When you look at the interior of the new GT500 racing car, chances are you will be a little surprised. Leather everywhere, that´s what you will see. You will find that the Mustang´s molded-plastic surfaces is covered by uninterrupted layer of stitched black hide. The trimmings found in the door panels are covered by leather as well. So is the steering wheel, the shifter, the parking-brake handle, the dash top, and even the console are covered by no less the genuine hide. The seat center panels themselves are made from red perforated leather, what else would you want? But strikingly different in the new GT500 is the usage of matte-aluminum finish on the shift knob, steering-wheel spokes, instrument rings, and vent registers. In the cars of yore, these parts were made of shiny bright metal decor.

These are considerable upgrades which makes the already legend GT500 sports car more infamous. Base price of the 2007 Ford Shelby GT500 has been pegged at more than $40,930.

Cars The Best

The Healey Sprite is a small open sports car which was announced to the press in Monte Carlo by the British Motor Corporation (BMC) on 20 May 1958, just before that year's Monaco Grand Prix. It was intended to be a low-cost model that "a chap could keep in his bike shed", yet be the successor to the sporting versions of the pre-war Austin Seven. The Sprite was designed by the Donald Healey Motor Company, which received a royalty payment from the manufacturers BMC. It first went on sale at a price of £669, using a mildly tuned version of the Austin A-Series engine and as many other components from existing cars as possible to keep costs down.

The Sprite was made at the MG sports car factory at Abingdon, Berkshire (actually now in Oxfordshire) and it was inevitable that the success of the design would spawn an MG version known as the Midget, reviving a popular pre-war model name. Enthusiasts often now refer to Sprites and MG Midgets collectively as 'Spridgets'.

Driven: Nissan Leaf Beauty

Driven: Nissan Leaf Beauty

Having announced that they were to be building the Leaf EV at their Washington plant in the UK, Nissan have been taking the car around the UK on a whistle-stop tour of Europe.

Whilst the car was on display at one of the few public showings, Tarmac managed to get a drive in the prototype. Whilst the test car is based on the Tiida model, the running gear is very similar to that which will be seen in the production Leaf in a few years time.

Driven: Nissan Leaf Beauty 3047754350153436591First impressions of the concept car are good. It looks, too all intents and purposes, like a regular car. This of course is for good reason, as regular cars are what people actually want. With the best intentions in the world, electric quadricycles like Reva's G-Wiz will never become commonplace as they can't offer the space and pace that people accept from the cars they're used to.

Driven: Nissan Leaf Beauty To this end then, the Leaf is off to a good start. It's a five-door hatchback with space for five, a good boot, and an inoffensive shape that manages to retain a bit of character. The front is modern and equipped with large headlights similar to those on the Ford Fiesta, and the rear has a hint of the last-generation Renault Megane about it. Even the interior is much like a normal car, with normal controls and two hooded instrument clusters. Only the large digital display in the centre console really hints at the Leaf's high-tech drivetrain.

Driven: Nissan Leaf Beauty From this point, the package starts looking quite different from regular cars. The shape has been specially designed for aerodynamic efficiency - those lights split airflow over the mirrors to reduce drag, and thanks to LED technology consume less power, too. The large Nissan badge on the nose sits on a hinged flap that opens up to reveal two charging points, one for quick chargers that can provied up to 80% charge in half an hour, and the other for a more leisurely charge. Range is around 100 miles which doesn't sound like a lot, but most research seems to suggest that the majority of journeys in the UK are over fewer than eight miles, so even if you didn't put the car on charge every night most people would still have enough for ten journeys.

Driven: Nissan Leaf Beauty The batteries themselves are stored under the cabin floor. The electric motor they power delivers 80kw of power, or around 107bhp. They also give a huge 280nm (206lb ft) of torque from zero rpm.

Driven: Nissan Leaf Beauty Sitting behind the wheel of the Tiida-based test car and moving off, this torque is immediately noticeable. Movement is instant and remarkably smooth in a way that even the best automatic transmission in a regular car can't manage. Throttle response can't be faulted. The silence is rather eerie at first but it makes the car seem supremely relaxing to drive - I suspect that the utter silence and smooth power delivery would make even the worst city driving seem far less stressful. As would the controls, which are simplicity in themselves - a tiny joystic selects drive (left and back), reverse (left and forwards) and a little button on the top selects park.

Driven: Nissan Leaf Beauty The test car didn't have regenerative braking but the production Leaf will do. As such, the brakes felt quite sharp, having probably been beefed up in the test car to make up for the lack of engine braking. Normally, simply backing off the power would see significant braking from the motor - to the point where using the car's brakes would be an uncommon occurence in town.

Driven: Nissan Leaf Beauty Propulsion aside, it again feels just like a regular petrol or diesel powered car. It's difficult to make too accurate a judgement on the finished product given that I only got a three laps of a very short circuit in which to test the car, but both ride and steering seemed fine - presumably no different from the petrol-powered Tiida. Again, this is important in attracting the buying public to the car - all the benefits of EV technology but with none of the drawbacks of cars like the G-Wiz.

Driven: Nissan Leaf Beauty Overall, I came away very impressed with the Leaf and itching to have another go. Electric cars are rapidly getting to the point where they can be considered serious alternatives to petrol and diesel cars for many people.

Driven: Nissan Leaf Beauty Of course, this is very much price-dependant. The number being thrown about at the moment is around £27,000 which is a lot for a small family car, but as with any technology the early adopters will bear the brunt of higher prices and this will bring down the unit cost for the manufacturers.

The Nissan Leaf is a good car even at this early stage, and a serious indication by Nissan that electric cars can walk the walk as well as talking the talk.
